Almost every one of my creative ideas come from choosing the vase first, then going to the flower market to see what is available at that moment and then the fun begins.
Another floral set-up I designed few years back and still love it.

They actually come like that as decoration. They are dried grass bound together by wire in a rectangular shape. I placed a rectangular vase in the middle (you can’t see it) so the ginger is in water and tied the top around the ginger , to give it a clean look.

How did you do that stitch like effect?
The dried grass vessel comes in one piece all put together. It has a opening in the center of it where I placed a long rectangular vase.
